12月19日上午，应山东师范大学信息科学与工程学院邀请，新加坡国立大学孟强教授在信息学院实验楼506会议室做了题为《Public Bus Adherence Modeling》的学术报告。报告会由学院党委书记张维军主持，刘弘教授介绍了孟强教授的基本情况和研究成果，学院部分教师、博士、硕士研究生聆听了此次报告。
报告会上，孟强教授首先对新加坡的地理位置、人口、语言和面临的挑战等方面进行介绍，引出报告会的主题。然后，孟强教授从以下几个方面展开讲解：1.Introduction；2.Probability distribution estimation for random HAR（Headway Adherence Ratio）；3.Tailored wakeby-type distribution for random HAR;4.Parameter estimation of tailored wakeby-type distribution；5.Conclusion。孟强教授条理清晰地向老师和学生们介绍了其研究成果，使在座师生受益匪浅。
报告会讨论环节，孟强教授和在座师生就报告会内容展开了热烈的讨论，对自己的研究领域以及科研方法做了认真的讲解，鼓励大家从实际问题中提出科学问题，并且分享了自己做科研的四点心得体会：刻苦努力；明确方向；加强交流；自我管理，同时，孟教授提出做好时间管理、情绪管理以及人际关系管理对于做科研而言是非常有必要的。
Dr.Qiang Meng is currently a Professor in the Department of Civil and Environment Engineering at National University of Singapore，Co-director of NUS-LTA Transportation Research Centre,Track leader of Centre for Maritime Studies as well as urban mobility panel member of National Science Foundation under the Prime Miniser’s office of Singapore.He is internationally known as an SCI H-index citation rate of 29 （Google Scholar H-index citation rate of 40）.
